DETAILED SCENE OUTLINE
Scene 1: The DUC is crowded with students but there is stillness or silence because no one is talking amongst each other rather they are all busy on their phones. The camera focuses on a table with three students. Elena, Harry and Sarah. All three are engrossed in their phones. Colin comes and joins them from behind; they acknowledge his presence with a smile but then get back to looking into their phones. That’s when Sarah receives a text from her grand mom asking her to accept her request on Facebook. They are all amused by it but this makes Elena ponder about what life was like without social networking sites and phones. Colin challenges everyone in the group to not to use their phones for a day, to re enact a day as it was in the 70’s.
Scene 2: Elena and Sarah are I their room putting their phones away. Sarah being the drama queen she is supposed to be kisses her phone says a long goodbye and then lays it down carefully in her jewelry box. Elena on the other hand just put it under her pillow and leaves for class.
Scene 3: Colin and Harry dump their phones in the drawer. Harry leaves for his class where as Colin is lying on the bed. After a few moments Colin can hear his phone ring in the drawer but can’t use it. He gets extremely restless and fidgety.
Scene 4: Sarah and Harry are walking back from class. Sarah is finding the walk awkward, as she isn’t used to her hands being idle. Rather she is always texting when she is walking, Colin on the other hand is flustered as he can’t tweet his question of where to eat and so has no suggestions from his followers. He feels helpless, as he has to make his this decision on his own.
Scene 5: After a long struggle to find each other they finally sit down together on the lunch table. They all start talking about their struggles that they are facing, but beyond that the conversation were just monosyllables and long awkward moments of silence. They all are gazing out that’s when Colin comes up with a plan to go to Lull water Park. Since they have nothing else to do they agree to go.
Scene 6: This scene doesn’t have dialogue, there is music playing in the background. Elena and Sarah are lying on the grass, they are admiring the sky and talking to each other and catching up about the day, Colin and harry are playing ball. They all seem to be enjoying themselves.
Scene 7: They are back at the DUC for dinner. This time the four of them are interacting with each other rather than being engaged in his or her phones. The camera zooms into their phones being stacked on the table. The screen fades out
Scene 8: The credits start rolling.
